Cyber Awareness Month: Grades 9-12
The annual K-12 Cyber Awareness Month (CAM) campaign supports Ontario school boards in encouraging safe and secure digital practices amongst students in October – and all year long.
What is Digital Me?
The Digital Me theme encourages youth in Grades 9-12 to take control of their digital knowledge and online presence, and to make informed choices concerning their digital identity and technology use.
The resource links below offer a rich repository of source material for you to access in creating lesson plans for high school students. They are organized into four themes:
Cyber Essentials emphasize protecting personal information online by maintaining privacy, creating strong passwords, the risks of oversharing and what to do if compromised.
AI and You investigates the ethical use of AI and an understanding of how it curates content, its impact on privacy and security, and strategies for responsible use.
Your Online Community explores privacy settings and data security, understanding data visibility and usage, protecting against breaches, and employing multifactor authentication.
Digital Wellbeing investigates how online activity creates a lasting impact, strategies to clean up and maintain a positive online reputation, and balancing authenticity with privacy.
