ECNO is pleased to announce that Mike Forgie has been appointed to the position of Shared Technology Services Program Manager

Mike comes to ECNO from Simcoe County District School Board after almost a decade of service on their Technology Management team. He is a former member of the Ontario School Board Association of Ontario (OASBO), as well as the ECNO advisory board committee for Shared Technology Services.

“With his extensive expertise in IT and education, we’re excited for the insight, leadership, and knowledge he’ll bring to ECNO Shared Technology Services, ECNO team, and the Shared Technology Services (STS) Advisory committee,” said Wayne Toms, Executive Director.

ECNO Shared Technology Services provides a cloud-based environment for Windows based software distribution to more than 32 School Boards in Ontario, supporting approximately 600,000 students.

Under Mike’s lead, the team will research technologies, sequence applications, package applications and oversee the distribution of packages.

“With the welcoming of a new team member, we sincerely thank our long-time friend and skilled professional, Ron Plaizier, and wish him well on his retirement from the role of ECNO Shared Technology Services Manager. Since retiring from Kawartha Pine Ridge DSB after an impressive 30-plus year career in IT leadership, Ron assumed the role of STS Project Manager and led the team through new and exciting projects and programs. ECNO is forever grateful for the work Ron has done on this journey towards success, and while we’re sad to see him go, we’re confident he’ll continue to play a role in future accomplishments!”
